What about Galileo?
What about evolution?
What about neuroscience?
You mean the same Galileo who was so despised by the church that they buried him across from Michelangelo in the largest church in Florence? ;-)  (pictured)

The source of Galileo's arrest was not his science, but his insults of the Pope 1
Where evolution is science, it represents no challenge to the Jesus Story. Where it becomes a challenge, it isn't science.

"Purpose" is not a scientifically measureable quantity. But that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. There is nothing scientific about claims that evolution is devoid of purpose 2 .
The actual science in neuroscience tells us nothing about consciousness, intention, personality, or morality.

Challenges to the Jesus Story only arise when people layer their own metaphysical opinions onto science 3 .
